Bas Armagnac - Vintage 1999 - Baco, Colombard, Ugni Blanc - Barrel n°357
Climate : 1999, a year marked by climatic excesses: temperatures higher than normal, torrential rains in July and September which unexpectedly spared the Château de Lacquy, a tropical-looking month of August; a period of anxious waiting, finally rewarded in October with a decrease in rainfall and a harvest of highly concentrated and pure berries. Thanks to luck and skill, this vintage ranks among the great wines of the decade. With an alcohol level at bottling of 10% - 45% vol. alc.
Grape varieties : 80% Baco 10% Ugni blanc 10% Colombard
Color : golden orange, clear and shiny.
Nose : rich and intense
Palate : Powerful and deep, a subtle sweetness accompanying each sip, revealing its complexity.
Awards : Outstanding Gold - IWSC London 2018 “A breathtaking Armagnac! On the nose, it presents an intoxicating richness of candied sugars suggesting a powerful brandy. And what power indeed in the mouth with extraordinary intensity... Yet, despite its power, it remains teasingly delicate, jewels of flavors superbly crafted, so deep, so complex and what a finish! It’s a heroic Armagnac and an Armagnac for heroes!”
